THE KING'S SPEECH:

Nominated for 12 Oscars and 14 Baftas.

Budget of $15 million shot in 39 days in 2009 (same year as Bedlam Productions launched- very new)

Distributed by Momentum Pictures (big American company)

Bedlam joined up with See-Saw Films - both are relatively new INDEPENDENT FILM COMPANIES

Finance from UK FILM COUNCIL

Only 2 sets used in the film (Speech room and Logue's dining room) everything else was ON LOCATION - not CGI- what does this shoiw about budget? Huge contrast to Alice in Wonderland where most of the sets were CGI.

Blow-up people used to fill stadium- more effective than CGI, not having to pay for lots of actors to sit in stadium. Low budget.

Stewart from Production team said main issue was 'No money and lots of sets'
